When I look at this painting, my mind goes to the many, many times I thought I could get away with not wearing shoes by walking very quickly, with only socks on, to reach my outdoor destination; whether that be the car, the mailbox, or to drag precious abandoned toys in from the rain. “Surely it can't be THAT wet!” I think to myself with confidence.
But of course, much to my delusional dismay, I feel them get soaked, pretty much instantly, with cold, freshly-wetted grass! Every time.
