This Feels Like a Wonderful Adventure!

"Shoot!  I forgot to shut off the water!"

I run outside to turn off the hose that has already filled the pool and fallen to the ground, water gushing out.  After turning the spigot, I walk up to the pool to assess the situation.  As expected, the pool has overflowed and is ready for another day of summer play.  What I do NOT expect is to step into a mud pit that is about a foot deep!  My bare feet go in, calf high, and I feel this thrilling jolt of excitement and wonder!  When was the last time I played barefoot, in the mud, in my own backyard?

I pull out my toes, all muddy and cute.  I look all around and realize what a spectacular sunset is occurring!  Soaking it all in, I gaze  at the flowers in my garden and the sage brush glowing with the final photons bouncing off the scene.

Naturally I think to myself, "This moment feels like a wonderful adventure!"

8x8 Mixed Media on canvas. Ready to hang in a black floater frame!
